Experimenting with different jewellery techniques by creating samples

Design Ideas

Final Design Idea

This is my drawing of the final design design i decided to go with in the end. My design was based on the idea of it being flat packed jewellery as well as bringing that 3d element of origami shapes within it. I wanted the back design to have a slot so the front could be slotted out as i thought this really supports the idea of it being flat packed very well.

As you see from the close up of the pendant I wanted the pendant to be linked to my current theme of flat packed and origami shapes. I liked the idea of using a slot for the back design of the pendant so the front can slotted out and changed around which makes it more interesting and versatile,
This the back design on the pendant which is the same shape as the 3d front piece pendant.

This is what the necklace looks like overall with the chain as well. I'm pleased with the outcome of my final piece as I managed to out it together in the end, in a small amount of time which I was impressed with.

Paris Trip 27/11/2010

During my trip to Paris i visited the Louvre which had a wide range of art such as sculptures, wall hanging and paintings .etc.
Here a range of photographs from the Louvre, that I took of a range of sculptures and wall hangings that i liked or thought were interesting.

These are some photos of the interesting ceiling design at The Louvre, the ceiling design was very decorative in every inch of detail looking up at it as you notice from the photos i've taken of the ceiling design. The colour gold is the main colour that makes the design stand out a lot.

Creative Design Practices: Week 6 Final Design and Final Flat Pack Origami Bag

Final Product Design

This is the final bag i decided to choose to make as my final chosen product.

Final Bag

Flat Pack Origami Bag (Before it was put together)

These are the straps to the bag that have press studs sewn onto the straps in order to clip in together when attaching the straps to the bag.

This is a picture of the lining that goes inside the bag, the lining has press studs all the way around the top of the lining so it can be attached to the bag just by clipping it together.

This is a close up of the press studs on the lining as you can see.

This is what the bag looks like overall when the bag is flattened down using the press studs to flat pack the bag down.

This is a close up of how the press studs are set out on the bottom and the side of the bag in order to make the bag flat and unclipped the press studs to make the bag 3D.

These are pictures of what the bag looks like in flat pack form before you put it all together just by clipping it together using the press studs attached to ll the pieces that belong to the bag in order to to put it together.

Creative Design Practices: Week 5 Product selection and Final Product Presentation Boards/

Product Selection

These are the six products I chose from my range of products I developed through design development. I then further developed the design of the six products I've chosen, in order to meet the customer needs as it wasn't really a range. As most of the products looked similar in size or had they had the same type of heel. I then tried out different types of heels to suit different customers to create a wider range of choice by having a flat shoe, wedge shoe and a high heel shoe. I also changed the bags by having a clutch bad a mid-size bag with short handles and a big holdall bag that had short straps as well as a long strap.

Final Products

These are the three final bags i decided to choose as part of my product range i developed these bags into three different bags suitable for a wider range of customers by having three different shaped bags.

Final Shoes

As you can see from the pictures above i had chosen three final shoes which i then further developed into a suitable product range of shoes by having a flat shoe, wedge shoe and a high heeled shoe to meet the buyers needs.

Product Presentation Boards

These are my final product presentation boards which feature my product range in a 3D view from different angles as you can see along with fabric swatches and pantone colours as well.

Creative Design Practices: Week 4 Ideas 3D Design and Design Development

Ideas

For my idea sheets i thought about initial shapes which i created from denim, satin and paper. The shapes i created from my chosen materials i then thought about how the shape could be transformed into a possible bag or shoe shape for example.

Design Development

These are pictures of design development i did for a range of products by taking one element of a chosen shape from my research and then developing it ten times for one product and then repeating the same process again for developing more products. By developing products gave me a wider range of products to choose from to choose for my final 6 products.
